4 Code of Conduct & Library Rules

Achievers’ Library is a place of serious academic pursuit. All enrolled members are expected to uphold the following six foundational rules at all times. These rules protect the rights, safety, and focus of every student who studies with us.

1
Care of Personal Belongings

Students are solely responsible for the safekeeping of their personal property — including books, study material, electronic devices, cash, jewellery, and other valuables — at all times while on library premises. The management of Achievers’ Library shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, misplacement, or damage to a student’s personal belongings, howsoever caused. We kindly request all students to use the personal lockers provided, and to exercise due diligence in securing their valuables. Items of exceptional value are best left at home.

2
Personal Safety & Assumption of Risk

While the management takes all reasonable precautions to maintain a safe environment, students acknowledge that they access library facilities at their own risk. In the event of any injury, accident, illness, or loss of life arising from circumstances beyond the direct control of the management — including, but not limited to, fire, earthquake, flooding, building structural failure, acts of God, civil unrest, or any other unforeseen calamity — the management of Achievers’ Library shall not be held legally responsible. Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the emergency exits and safety notices displayed at each branch, and to follow staff instructions calmly in any emergency.

3
Responsible Use of Internet Facilities

The Wi-Fi provided is exclusively for legitimate educational purposes — accessing lectures, e-books, research material, and study content. Any use of internet facilities for activities that are illegal, unethical, obscene, or contrary to the laws of India — including accessing prohibited content, hacking, online fraud, or any activity violating the Information Technology Act, 2000 — is strictly prohibited. Students found engaging in such activities will be held personally and fully responsible and may be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities. The library reserves the right to monitor usage and restrict access without prior notice.

4
Maintenance of Academic Decorum

Achievers’ Library is a dedicated academic space, and all students must conduct themselves accordingly. Any romantic, intimate, or socially disruptive behaviour — including public display of affection, excessive personal interaction, or any conduct that disturbs or makes other students uncomfortable — is strictly not permitted on library premises. Every student has the right to study in a dignified, distraction-free environment, and all members are expected to treat one another and library staff with courtesy, respect, and professionalism at all times.

5
Silence, Discipline & Mobile Phone Usage

Complete silence is mandatory in all study areas at all times. Talking — whether in person, on the phone, or otherwise — is strictly not permitted inside the study halls. Mobile phones must be kept on silent or vibrate mode. If a call must be attended to, students are requested to step outside quietly. Students using mobile devices or laptops for study must use headphones or earphones when accessing audio or video content, at a volume that does not disturb others. Violation of the silence rule will result in a courteous reminder from staff; repeated violation will be treated as a serious breach of these terms.

6
Management’s Right to Terminate Membership

The management of Achievers’ Library reserves the unconditional right to suspend or permanently terminate the membership of any student who, in the reasonable judgement of the management, fails to comply with any of the rules or conditions set out herein. Such action may be taken at any time, without prior notice, and without the obligation to furnish reasons to the student concerned. In cases of termination due to misconduct or violation of these terms, any remaining membership fee — whether partly or wholly unused — shall not be refunded. The management’s decision in such matters is final and binding.

Important: The six rules above are the foundational pillars of our community. They protect the rights, safety, and focus of every student. We trust all members will uphold them with the same seriousness they bring to their studies.

The following additional conduct rules also apply to all students at all times:

  • Food & beverages: Eating and drinking (other than water) is prohibited inside the study halls. Food must be consumed in the pantry or canteen area only.
  • Cleanliness: Students must keep their seating area clean and tidy. Littering is not acceptable.
  • Dress code: Modest and decent attire is required. Clothing that is revealing or inappropriate for an academic setting is not permitted.
  • Smoking & alcohol: Strictly prohibited on all library premises.
  • Visitors: No visitors are permitted inside study halls. Guests must wait at reception.
  • Damage to property: Any damage caused to library furniture, equipment, or property will be charged to the responsible student at replacement cost.

5 Use of Facilities

  • Wi-Fi: Provided exclusively for educational purposes (see Rule 3 above). Streaming entertainment, gaming, or downloading non-educational material is prohibited.
  • Printing: Available at an additional per-page charge. Library printers must not be used for commercial or personal business printing.
  • Pantry: Shared appliances must be cleaned after use. Food may not be stored in the refrigerator for more than 24 hours.
  • Washrooms: Separate facilities are provided for male and female students. All students must keep washrooms clean and report maintenance issues to staff.
  • Power points: For charging laptops and phones only. Charging of other appliances (e.g. electric kettles, heaters) is strictly prohibited.
  • Library resources: Books, newspapers, and study material provided by the library must not be removed from the premises.
  • Soundproofing: A special soundproofing arrangement has been installed at all branches to create a noise-free, peaceful study environment. Students are respectfully requested to honour this investment by maintaining strict silence at all times.
  • Face Biometric Entry & Exit System: All branches are equipped with a face-recognition biometric access system. Every enrolled student must register their facial biometric at the time of admission and present their face at the designated scanner upon each entry and exit. This system enables contactless, secure access and automatically records electronic attendance. Biometric data is processed and stored in compliance with applicable data protection laws. It is used exclusively for access control and attendance record-keeping. Students have the right to request deletion of their biometric data upon conclusion of their membership. Refer to the Privacy Policy for full details.

6 Personal Belongings & Lockers

  • Personal lockers are available for storing books, laptops, and study materials. Locker charges are displayed at each branch.
  • A refundable security deposit may be charged for locker keys, returned upon surrender of the key in good condition.
  • As stated in Rule 1 of the Code of Conduct, students are entirely responsible for their own belongings. Achievers’ Library is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property, whether stored in lockers or otherwise.
  • Items of exceptional value should not be stored in lockers or brought to the library.
  • Lockers must be cleared at the end of each day unless a long-term arrangement has been specifically authorised by management.
  • CCTV cameras are installed throughout all premises. Footage is stored securely for 30 days.

7 Suspension & Termination of Membership

As outlined in Rule 6 of the Code of Conduct, the management reserves the absolute right to suspend or permanently terminate a student’s membership. Grounds for such action include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of any clause of the Code of Conduct (Section 4), whether repeated or singularly severe
  • Non-payment of dues or dishonoured payment instruments
  • Submission of false or misleading information at admission
  • Behaviour that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or disruptive to other students or staff
  • Sharing or transferring membership access to another individual
  • Any illegal activity conducted on or through library premises or facilities
No Refund on Termination: In the event of membership termination due to misconduct or breach of these terms, no refund of fees — whether wholly or partially unused — will be issued. The management’s decision is final.

In the case of voluntary cancellation by the student, the remaining fee is non-refundable; however, management may at its discretion offer a branch transfer or defer the remaining period for up to three months.

8 Liability & Disclaimer

  • No guarantee of results: The library does not guarantee examination success, rank improvement, or selection in any examination.
  • Service interruptions: The library is not liable for interruptions caused by power outages, internet failures, equipment breakdown, natural disasters, government orders, or other force majeure events.
  • Personal safety: As stated in Rule 2, students access all facilities at their own risk. The library is not responsible for injury, illness, or loss of life arising from events outside its direct control.
  • Personal property: As stated in Rule 1, the library is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any student’s personal belongings.
  • Changes to services: The library may modify timings, facilities, pricing, or services at any time with reasonable prior notice.

9 Privacy Policy

  • Personal information collected at admission is used solely for membership administration and student communication, stored securely, and never sold or shared with any third party without consent, except as required by law.
  • Contact details may be used to send fee renewal reminders, seat availability updates, and library notifications via WhatsApp or SMS.

10 Amendments to These Terms

  • Achievers’ Library reserves the right to revise or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
  • Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of library facilities following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
  • For material changes, enrolled members will be notified via WhatsApp or notices at each branch.
